Classroom Guidance
In 3rd grade classroom guidance lessons,
we will cover two main topics:
Conflict Resolution
Students will learn how to solve conflicts peacefully using
I-messages & active listening. They will learn the SEALs method of problem solving.
STOP: Who is the conflict with and what is it about? When and where will you talk to the person?
EXPLAIN: How are you feeling and what do you want to happen?
AFFIRM & ACKNOWLEDGE: Do you have a role in the conflict? What can you do to help solve the problem?
LOCK: Lock in on a decision about what you are going to do. Do you wnat to lock in the friendship, lock it out, or take a vacation?

Test Taking Strategies
& Relaxation Techniques
Students will learn how to identify how they feel before & during tests. We will use the book, Tyler Tames the Testing Tiger, as a resource and cover skills such as positive thinking & deep breathing.
